[He still feels a weird lingering anxiety when he thinks about it, but he wants to believe Kolivan won't hurt him.]

I thought such a thing would make me terrified of opening up, but instead, it just makes me more hungry to do it. If we only have a limited time together, I don't want to waste a single moment of it fretting over the same fears that have ruined me before.

[Looking down at him, he listens as Cyril explains how little time they have. And yet, they can still do this. Make this work somehow. Nodding, he looks to the path they're walking, quiet before he speaks. Considering his words carefully as he always does.]

[Cyril feels so touched by that, and he gives Kolivan a small, sincere smile.]

Hearing you say it makes me think so too.

That's a rather good point. You're the most honest man I know. I suppose that means I've no choice but to agree now.

[He is curious. There is something relaxing about being able to speak to someone like this. Casually. It isn't something he's been able to do in a long time. Not until Cyril.]

A bit, yes. Some of it is more dreary. But there are woods and a sense that you can find hidden and secret things within them.

It seems in these woods the only things to be found on these creatures everyone is wanting to hunt.

I know. I admit I was tempted to see if I could find one, but it's been years since I was on a proper hunt.

If you wish to look for one it would not be challenging to begin tracking now. I have weapons upon me.

[Cyril's eyes widen and a grin spreads across his face.]

Yes! Let's go that! [He actually seems pretty excited about the idea.

Later, if they tell Robin about this it's doubtful this is what he had in mind when he suggested a first date, but hunting possibly make-believe magical creatures in the woods is exactly the kind of thing Cyril used to do in his part-time.]

[Bringing out the blaster that he's been carrying, he offers it to Cyril.]

Have you trained with this weaponry?

[If not then he plans to show him how to use it quickly first.]

[Cyril takes the weapon and nods.] I have.

I should have thought to bring my bow.

This will do for now. We can come again tomorrow when you have your bow. If nothing else we can familiarize ourselves with the tracks to know what to look for when we come back.

The fact that you're willing to hunt with me two days in a row feels like we're getting our new relationship off on the perfect footing.

He had been worried doing it would make him homesick, but somehow with Kolivan it doesn't make him sad. His presence makes it something they can share, rather than something Cyril misses.]
