[ Dorian follows him into the kitchen, tin in hand and waits until Cyril is ready assistance brewing. ]

I'm glad me and my magic can be of use.

[Cyril sets the kettle out for him and gives him space to use magic to heat the water. He watches with a smile, enjoying being able to watch Dorian's power - even for something so simple.]

Aren't there spells you can put on kettles to keep them warm long term?

There are spells for all sorts of conveniences.

[ The answer is 'yes' and he happily raises a hand to barely touch the kettle, feeling to make sure it doesn't boil, but gets hot enough to steep the tea properly. Once he's got the temperature right he maintains it and sets the loose mixture to infuse. ]

I typically don't have a need to keep kettles warm, but it's easy enough.

And here we have Thermoses. Much less impressive.

Dreadfully mundane.

[ Said despite some of the technology here being amazing. ]

I, for one, would much rather have your magic touch.

Oh, I’ve no doubt about that.

[ are they still talking about magical conveniences? ]

[Sure, just about the tea and nothing else!]

I think I have some snacks we can eat with these too. Pre-packaged but still pretty decent.

Dorian leaves the kettle be, spell still cast and maintained as he pulls out a little box from his bag. ]

As did I. [ the apple chips are set aside. ]

Oh, those look delicious. I have some cookies and some almonds. We can make it a little feast?

I would like that and the tea is almost ready.

[ This affair is so light hearted and easy, it’s almost hard to believe that he’s having some kind of tea date with the Inquisitor. ]

[samahl]

[Cyril likes how sweet this feels. It's good not to feel a crushing emotional weight on his chest. This moment feels like breathing after holding his breath.

He gets the snacks together, though he does have to ask for help to open a package, and they end up with the tea and a platter of snacks. When they're settled in he asks how Dorian has been doing.]

So, how has it been being back here?

[ It's comfortable and easy to be like this, doctoring up a cup of tea for the both of them and just enjoying the company. There isn't an overwhelming sense of duty or any pressure to do anything. ]

Honestly? It's a breath of fresh air compared to the Imperium. Though I'll admit it's been a bit odd adjusting to the designation again, but I've been playing nice- as I always do.

[ Some of the greetings haven't been what he was expecting, but he's made do. ]

[He makes a frown at the mention of Dorian's designation, but he doesn't want to force Dorian to focus on that by dwelling on it.]

I think, if I found myself in the same situation, the first thing I'd do when I returned would be eating chocolate ice cream. And then I'd take a long bath. Oh! Maybe I'd do those two things at once.

[He knows Dorian took a bath after getting back, at least. The memory of seeing him like that on the network was a good one.]

[ He might be bothered by the topic of his designation, but he's the one that brought it up and neither of them seem to linger on it. ]

I'd debated a glass of wine in the bath, but I owed Rhys a visit. [ Coming to him with wine on his breath likely would have made their reunion worse than it had been. ]

How did the visit go? [He asks gently. He knows that Rhys had worried about Dorain while he slept. They had spent time together to distract one another with friendship.]

Initially... not well.

[ He remembers the complete lack of love he had been greeted with. Dorian's jaw tenses for just a moment and then he brings the tea up to his lips, letting the spice of it play over his tongue and warm him slightly. ]

But it got better.

[samahl]

Oh... [Cyril takes the break to try to tea as well and responds by his eyes widening.]

Oh. That's good.

Uh, I mean the tea. Not that your reunion was less than happy.

[ Dorian chuckles at that, not having misunderstood Cyril at all, but grateful for the clarification nonetheless. ]

The food is one of the best things about this world. I feel like I could eat every minute and still not try everything.

There is an overwhelming variety of food here- I’m amazed we’ve managed to limit ourselves to little treats like these. Not that they aren’t good...

[ He doesn’t have the most diverse diet, but curries have become familiar and somewhat frequent. ]

I wonder if that's why we can't remember this place when we go home? Imagine trying to adjust to living in The Free Marches again after being able to buy chocolate for only a handful of change.

[Chocolate exists in Thedas, but if Cyril wants it back home he has to import it.]

Hah! [ Dorian shakes his head at that. ]

I’m certain that’s not the reason, but you’re The Inquisitor, if you’ve a desire for chocolate I’m confident something could be arranged.

Former Inquisitor, officially. [Cyril points out with a small smirk. Officially, he's returned, even though they both know he's still involved with the fight against Fen'Harel's plans.] Though your point stands. I could have it imported. Varric was able to secure some for Bull while we were still in Skyhold and now he's the viscount. I bet I could get a steady supply, but it will cost much more back home.

You’re right, it would cost some good coin, but Varric could probably pull some strings. And then you have me. [ Dorian chuckles as he motions to himself. ]

I’m certain if you ever visited I could get you a morsel or two.
